14: jawline kiss
The clink of glasses is quieter now that the bar was winding down for the night. Kyle uses a construct or three to round up the dirty dishes from the tables and bring them back to where the dishwasher sat.
Guy gives the bar another wipe-down and shoos the last of the Lanterns out of the establishment. There’s a pleased hum that comes from him when Kyle steps close to him to grab the last few dishes off the bar; a few glasses and plates and whatnot.
Guy smiles at him when he bumps by with his armful of glassware. Kyle returns the smile and gives a pleased noise.
“Another good night, if I do say so.”
“Not even a fight.”
“Nope. Looks like an easy clean up night too.”
“Yup. How about you clean up in here and I’ll finish up the dishes?”
When Guy nods, Kyle leans up against the bar and presses a kiss to the curve of Guy’s jaw; it’s the best he can do with his arms full and the angle Guy was standing at. Guy laughs a little and Kyle deems that a victory for the night, disappearing into the back room.
20: upside down kiss
Guy rolls his eyes at the laugh that escapes Kyle when the other flips from the branch he was sitting on and drops into an easy glide. If there’s anything Kyle has mastered with his ring, it’s definitely flying; the younger takes no more joy than being able to flip easily through the air with his ring.
He drops fairly close to the ground, a gesture that makes Guy’s heart beat against his ribs [ even if he’d never admit it ], and pulls up in time to brush his fingers against the ground, drifting by Guy almost lazily.
Guy watches him a bit, pushing his hands into his pockets, and watches as Kyle pulls back into the air and comes back towards him.
He drops in front of him, a grin plastered across his face, and for a second, they simply look at one another. Kyle has a briefly contemplative look before he darts forward and pecks Guy quickly and spins away and back into the air.
Guy only rolls his eyes, mumbling something about Kyle being a total nerd.
9: forehead kiss
It’s not the fact that Kyle’s not gotten out of bed all day that alerts Guy to the other being ill. It’s the unhappy groan that escapes him when Guy tries to tug the covers away from where Kyle has curled them around him, a noise of disdain towards the idea of light and being awake and out of bed.
He tips a brow at Kyle and tugs the blanket away, revealing a feverish and disheveled Kyle Rayner. Kyle shifts around until he tugs the pillow over his head and peeks out from under it.
Guy frowns the smallest bit and bends down beside the bed, pulling the pillow away until Kyle finally turns over towards him.
Kyle, for lack of a better word, looks miserable. Guy presses his fingers to Kyle’s forehead and the frown on his face deepens as he stands back up.
”Stay right here. I’ll be right back.”
Kyle curls his fingers around the bottom edge of Guy’s vest and tugs to keep him there, prompting Guy to turn back to his partner. He bends down again, presses a kiss to Kyle’s forehead, and stands again.
”I’ll be right back. Promise.”
Kyle tucks the blanket back around himself and nods; he’s back to sleep by the time Guy’s out the door.
6: fingers kiss
There’s something that Kyle registers faintly as blood dripping down the left side of his face. He can hardly remember if it’s his or someone else’s at this point; things had happened so quickly it was hard to orient himself.
He looks around, feeling the tips of his fingers tingle with the fading adrenaline as he makes a head count of the Lanterns below him. He counts to nearly 15 before he finally spots Guy.
Dropping down, he staggers into his partner’s side and Guy grunts at the contact. A stammered apology drifts from the younger Lantern and he leans against Guy’s side some until he manages to get himself firmly back on his own feet.
He glances over Guy’s face and registers any cuts and bruises and— he’s bleeding, just like Kyle is. There’s a cut in his hairline that’s bleeding sluggishly down Guy’s face. He reaches up to wipe the blood away and feels Guy’s fingers curl around his own, pulling his hand away.
” ‘m okay. Promise.”
He dips his head slightly and presses a soft sort of kiss against Kyle’s knuckles, bruised despite the cushioning Kyle tried to give them.
”Are you okay?”
i have an urge to return to marvel rp but:
- there’s too much Hawkeye to reread.
- my Tommy Shepherd muse isn’t super strong.
- and I don’t know what to read for Ahura.
